i havent been able to make much sense out of the 908. It seems to be interpreted in many different ways.

I live in Irwin, PA (near PGH). I have a bear grylls ultimate survival knife (recently gifted to me). Its blade length is 4.75" fix blade. Not double sided.
Is it legal for me to carry that? I do own a Conceal Carry Permit (if that makes any sort of difference). To carry it would it have to be concealed or open carry? Some people have told me its ok as long as it can be seen, others have said if its seen it could be taken as a threat and should be concealed if carried.

Does PA have any law regarding blade length? Sheathed or unsheathed.

Thank you for your time.

PA has no law on blade length.

As you know PA does have a law on a Prohibited Offensive Weapon. The legal definition of same is rather broad. A LOT of how the law is enforced has to do with the circumstances in which it is discovered. And a CCW permit does not permit one to possess anything but a GUN.

Any particuar reason you feel you MUST carry such a knife ?

My question would be what is your reasoning for wanting to carry that, especially if you can carry a gun. If it's for protection, go with the gun, assuming you are proficient with it.
