Are you saying "solve a case" or "solved a case"?

A need to solve a case means you have an "open case"
A case solved is a "closed case"

Since joining police forums, I've learned how regional police jargon is. I read E. coast police (and TV shows) call bad guys "perps". Not a term out here, we call them suspects. Also an arrest is called a "collar" in some areas, we call it a "pinch".

It depends on where I worked 10-15 or 10-31 or 9-08. :yesnod:

Is there another name for the viewing room to the interview room?

Be it a good arrest or a good seizure, we call it a "lick". You picked up 200 keys last night? Good lick.

Champagne Room, Boom-Boom Room, Magic Shop... different club owners call their peep show rooms whatever comes to mind, I guess. :)

We use "good lick" too to describe a good job. We also use "bust" to describe an arrest, "good bust last night".

Kinda makes you wonder how those terms come about, don't it?

I've heard pinch and bust. I usually refer to a good lick as a good hit in football.
