God loves our boots on the ground Warriors.
But, there is a special place in Heaven for Fast Movers!

Good video. But I have to admit that the timing of showing a C-5 (?) taking off and then the WTC wasn't the best of editing......

Yeah, but I'll take a AC-130 Spooky if I were on the ground I think. I think the C-130 shooting the flares might have been on but I couldn't see if it had the artillery mounted on it. Those things just slow orbit the target until everything is gone. I think it would be the greatest sound if you were U.S. troops and scary as heck if you weren't.

But if I was in the Air Force, I'd take anything with a jet engine :) and preferably a single seat..

I think that's a C-17. Massive aircraft.

points if you can recognize the quote
If the pilot's good, see, I mean if he's reeeally sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low... oh you oughta see it sometime. It's a sight. A big plane like a '52... varrrooom! Its jet exhaust... frying chickens in the barnyard!

I didn't recognize it, but General Buck was a bit on the wild side, wasn't he?

General "Buck" Turgidson from Dr. Strangelove

Dang, that was lucky. (okay, that is mixed up but that guy always played the same character, Maj. "King" Kong). Somehow I don't think even the Marine Corps lets you replace your helmet with a cowboy hat on the way to the primary.

Can't reallly do it justice without Patton imitating the B-52 :).

I remember when they were mounted on C-47's and called Puff, the Magic Dragon. The pilots would unsync the engines at night and they would make this ungodly noise as they approached, you couldn't tell where they were until the Westinghouse electric gatling guns opened up. It was like a solid stream of fire. They were scary.
Like the B-52's of today, the planes were older than most of the crew.

Yup.
A fast mover with an ordinance load is like a guardian angel to troops on the ground, however, an AC-130 is GOD.
