Has the FBI ever taken over anyone's crime scene here? If so, what happened?

That almost never happens.
Sometimes they will come in and "take over" a bank robbery (after we call them and tell them about it) but the FBI investigates very few crimes that local police deal with on a regular basis. They will also assume primary jurisdiction on some kidnapping cases.
But the idea of the hotshot FBI agent showing up and throwing all the local cops out of a crime scene when they "take over" is an invention of Hollywood. Generally if they show up on one of our scenes, it's because we called them there.

Only if there is an arrest or something else that they can take credit for after it's done.

Frankly if they want to come take one of my fatal car crashes, they are more than welcome to. They won't even have to tell me to leave, I'll do it without even being told to. :biggrin5:

Seriously, they never come to our scenes unless we call them first. I've never seen nor heard of any problem between us and any federal agency over jurisdiction involving a crime.

They are working a bank robbery with us, but we called THEM. As was said before, if I have a case and they wanna "take over" BE MY GUEST! Less paper for me!

Post of the day.
When it comes to bank robberies they just ask for a courtesy copy. I had a takeover robbery where the bad guys also took the vault and no 'feds'. Lol that fed moniker always gets a chuckle out of me.
The only cases I've seen where FBI has taken over lead on an investigation and called the shots (crime scene or otherwise) are those involving terrorism or counterintelligence. Other matters where I've worked alongside FBI (cases involving fraud and child pornography, mostly) they were just another agency sharing a joint investigation.
