AMANA, Iowa --- On Tuesday at 9:30 p.m., Iowa County sheriff's deputies were called to the Amana Refrigeration Appliances factory (owned by Whirlpool) in Middle Amana on a report that a man was making terrorist threats by stating he intended to "blow up Amana" because his friend and brother Osama bin Laden was killed.

Boubker Lamkadmi, no age or address provided, told authorities he was only kidding and misunderstood.

Lamkadmi was charged with making a "threat of terrorism," a class D felony, and was in the Iowa County Jail overnight awaiting an initial appearance in court sometime today.

Deputies said the investigation into the incident indicates Lamkadmi never possessed any weapons or explosive devices.

He was cooperating with investigators in every way, according to deputies.

Wouldn't be a big deal to me. Amana used to be a pretty good product until Whirlpool bought them.

The usual conspiracy theorists are also coming out from under the rocks saying that he's not really dead, etc. The press gives these people far too much coverage.

How about if he cooperates with deportation ? :)

I don't get it really.
How do people not understand that prank calling a police department with a bomb threat is a bad idea. In this time and climate how could you not realize that it's going to have negative effects on you?

bin Laden (in Arabic): "I was only kidding. I was misunderstood. Do you speak Ara..?"
blam blam - double tap to the forehead.

Bottom line: bombs and bomb threats are no way to create understanding if you are misunderstood.
