I e-mailed our Chief of Police the other day off their website and asked if I could go on a ride-a-long sometime. I met with him this morning and it is looking like Monday morning about 9:00 I will be doing just that. Unless of course an outstanding warrant shows up....either way I guess I would still get a ride. LOL
Anyway, I am very excited - I have wanted to do this for the past thirty years, will only be for two or three hours since my back won't handle much more than that. The Chief is such a nice guy, great sense of humor....yet I had that feeling he could kill ya with one finger if he had to - :wink5:
RAL's are fun, just make sure you follow the officers every directive and you will be fine. If you stop with the officer, offer to buy him/her a drink. You say you are only going for a couple hours cause you back can't handle any more. More than likely you will be sitting in a squad, is that how you can't handle it?

I'm disabled due to a back injury. I get along ok, but sitting in a car for more than a couple hours I tend to "lockup" (no pun intended).

I remember my first ride along, good experience can't even imagine how excited you're if you really have waited 30 years for this!
