Maybe. Usually Americans cut their meat that way and then pull the switcharoo. Apparently it's bad form to put the knife down or switch hands in those refined countries. They also made me point my finger on the knife and fork. No shovel grips. :)

as a side note, I never understood how the refined liberal tweed and pipe set got along with dirt hippies. Portland and Berkeley seem to have cornered that demographic melting pot.

I just eat that way 'cause it's easier and quicker, don't have to set stuff down and switch.
