Hi everyone.
I am 42 years old and in the Denver area.
I cannot seem to find any information on the upper age limit for begining in this career.
Does anyone here know if there is an upper limit for these professions?
I don't really have a preference as to which department.I like the state troopers' responsibility list a little more than local police,But it doesn't matter that much to me.
Any information would be helpful.
Thanks

Have you looked at their websites? They generally give the upper age limits. A lot of departments have taken upper ones off due to age discrimination lawsuits. We removed ours decades ago and found it to be a real advantage, we hired a number of retired military who have made great cops.

Colorado State Patrol (http://csp.state.co.us/SEL_MQ_DQ_new.html)

Here's the min. requirements for Colorado State Troopers. There's no mention of a max age limit but I do now in my state (California) the CHP has a max age of 35. The municipal police departments vary and correctional facilities will usually take any age as long as they can get past the preliminaries.

All of them have minimum age,But no maximum age listed.
I don't have any experience in Law enforcement, but several years as security guard.
I just wanted to check here in case I'm overlooking a "common knowledge"thing about age limits.I appreciate the replies guys.

Somehow I get the feeling a phone call is the only way I'll find out for sure.
I know the military's limit is 35 years old max.But I wasn't sure if Law enforcement had a limit.
Thanks for the reply

Im in CO Springs. No upper age limit. In our last academy class, we had a guy over 50, and a second over 45.
