Hey, anyone trying to become a TX state trooper? I have just taken my written and PT test last week. I know they have moved the academy date from Jan23rd, and word on a new date?

I'm at the tail end of the process, waiting on the oral board. They did postpone the date but have not come up with a new one yet. Did you make the cutoff date for the supposed Jan. class? What region are you applying out of. I'll keep you posted if I here anything. Sounds like it's going to be mid to late Feb. Good Luck!

Is anybody out there that applied and tested this past Sep-Oct.? Just tryin to see the progress....BI, Oral Board, Austin trip for medical and psych eval??? I'm waiting on board date, the academy delay has delayed mmy progress, curious if everyone else's progress is delayed too.

I thought after my BI the oral board next but there is one more step in process before the oral board....The commander has to approve so I'm waiting for my packet to reach his desk, if approved, they will then call for oral board date. Still no word on an academy date. Good job Fuentes, good luck!

No i havn't yet thats all im waiting on right now.
My BI told me to wait on a call from my recruiter, but i thought you get a call from Austin to set up a board date.

You're right. When I got the call for the board it was from a Cpl in Austin. How long has your BI been complete? I think I waited three weeks between the approval from the chain of command and the call from Austin.

I hope everything is going well. Have you heard from Emi? I have tried to contact her on this forum and o.com. No answer though.

My BI has been complete for two weeks tomorrow. I'm gonna be cutting it close if i do get called for the board. This sux i can't do anything but wait.

Well, hopefully you will hear something soon. When they contacted me for the board I had about a week to prepare. You should have the same. I hope everything works out.

The time frame is different for everyone. For instance, I took my poly 2 December and didn't go to the board until 24 January. But, I know some folks that started the hiring process on 3 January and were at the boards on 13 February. So, it all depends on which academy you are trying to get into.

I had my poly on feb.9,2011 so I propably will not make it to the March 6th class. Do you know if they start a class right after they finish one or they wait a while? June/July2011?????

My other question is...Is a Investigator (background one) going to call you before they start your background or they just start it right after the poly without calling you??? I am just eager to know all these details. Anyone?

My background investigator called before they started. Make sure to tell your references to be willing to answer unknown or blocked numbers for a few weeks. I would also suggest you speak with your recruiter to learn the process a little better. They are a wealth of information and want to answer your questions. O wrote everything down and spoke with mine. I didn't feel as out of the loop after speaking with them.

There is also another forum on a different site that will give you a better idea about the process. Ask your recruiter which academy you're applyig to...they will know.
