Any one here know what a S&W 4506 45 cal long slide, stainless. is going for. I just bought a 586 from this guy and he has above for $500.00 in good condition.

Good condition is a LITTLE vague.
What model of 4506 is it?
What kind of sights does it have one it.
Any idea how many rounds fired though the weapon?
How many magazines does it come with?
What color are the followers in the magazine?
Does it have the hooked trigger guard?
Is the hammer and trigger silver colored or black?
If it is a used police weapon, 375 to 425 would be BETTER.
It is a buyers market right now.

I have no experience in S&W autos. I had a 4006 around 12 years ago as a duty weapon, and I hated it.

Thanks for responses, I will get more info on the gun tomorrow and post it up. thanks again.

I have carried one twice as a duty weapon.
Once was dept issued and once as my own
firearm.
The 4506 has very few drawbacks.
THE BIGGEST IS THAT IT IS HEAVY.
It is a very accurate and will shoot almost any 45 round without problems.

Outshined, I think Kels has it nailed too. If you didn't like the 4006, you aren't likely to like the 4506, as IMO, the 4006 is a much better pistol. I've shot both. My brother had a 4506 he got in a trade. It functioned well enough and was reasonably accurate. His wasn't a former police piece and had the hooked trigger guard. He didn't like it much and neither did I. An ungainly pistol, IMO. He didn't keep it very long. There was quite a bit of boot with it (4 mags, 2 holsters) when it went down the road and it didn't sell until he discounted the price well below $450.
