Hello hows it going, i am wondering if the NYPD accepts Fema credits from their independent study program. Also the credits you get from the academy does not count towards the 60 credits is that correct? Is there any other program except the Fema program, although i am going to college in the winter, i want to build up the credits faster because i only have 2 years left till my exam expires.
Thank you i appreciate it.

You have to pay a college money to tranfer those FEAM classes into college credits. Assuming you are a full time student, if yout take 15 credits this fall semester, and 15 in the spring, and 15 in the summer, and 15 in the fall, you have plenty of time. Or just take the next exam after you finish 30 credits.

Sanford Brown is not accredited by one of the 6 "regional accreditors" who are generally seen as the standard for saying what's a "legit" school and what's not. They have a "national accreditation" through another entity, and some of the programs are individually accredited, but that's a huge red flag, I think.
Not from the NYPD though, so I don't know what they will/won't accept.

thanks Citicop. the site doesn't specify (regional or national) and i chatted with one live officer from the NYPDrecruit site he said once it's an accredited school i'm clear.
You better get a second opinion.....call again. Unless there is a change, it has to be regionally accredited unless US Military.
Thanks joe, I have about 35 college credits though. And I'm still in college. Sept of oct of this year will make it a year since I applied. I got my off. Score 89 plus the selective certification stuff. I can knock out a few more credits until I'm called right? What's my wait like now joe?
You got time...2012 summer class or later
Jo, question for you for whenever you come on; those sanford-brown courses that i have i can get them converted through FEMA?
