Its up to the first baseman to protect the pitcher, the batter should have never even gotten to the pitcher. I played 6 years of ball ( well more than that, but competitive high school and two for my college) that 1st basemen should have clocked that guy WAY before that. But with all that being said, Morgan took the hit like a man (the first one) as he should have, you hurt their guy, they hit you, thats that game get used to it. But, to steal 2nd and 3rd was WRONG and he should be thrown at again because he obviously didn't get the hint, at 11-3 (score of the game at the time) you shouldn't be stealing bases to raise the score, even if your teams sucks so much you give up 7 runs in 5 innings.

I don't understand that at all. Why does the 1st baseman have to protect the pitcher? Can't the pitcher protect himself? It's not like the pitcher won't see someone coming after him... Is there such a difference in athleticism or ability to kick *** between a pitcher and the 1st baseman or any other position? Is the 1st baseman supposed to be the enforcer for the whole team? If you're gonna be pulling in other positions to help a wimpy pitcher, why not just have the pitcher tactically advance towards center field, draw the attacking batter further into the field, and then ratpack the batter with the pitcher, short stop, and 2nd baseman all together?

I can't believe baseball players have fighting roles. I figured they'd be too afraid they'd break a nail.

As for the goat humping, not my thing really (either one).

The pitcher's arm and hand are his most valuable assets to him and the club. A broken hand from throwing a punch can end a career.

I pitched in high school and one year of college and never heard of anyone having a role though. Especially the 1st baseman. Generally the catcher, who was well padded chased the batter to the mound.
