I am currently intrested in getting into the dps acadamy. I need some advice as to what to expect and what kind of shape I should be in before I head that way. I have stomach problems that I think could cost me (IBS). I would like to hear any advice from anyone about what kind of shape to be in, and also what to expect. :confused5: Thanks for any help.

Steve will know it best but from what I've heard, it's no joke. Show up in great shape and it'll make the experience that much more easy. The last thing you want to worry about in the academy is the PT.

Welcome to RP Larry! Were glad your here. You will need to be in the best shape that you can get in and then some. Focus on running (3 miles at 8 min per mile), pushups, and sit-ups! I hear they are doing some type of P-90 workouts. Check out the DPS recruiting page because you have to meet weight for your height.

Good Luck, and Be Safe.
