I'm on a forum where we discuss the things we see at work and how to live through bad days. This post was left by one of the members:

I worked at a county jail for about a year. It was amusing. [information removed to protect poster] Anyway, I used to be one of the guys that would handout those checks as the inmates "checked" out. I'd get people that would go "Uhh, thats not my name." "Is that the name you gave the officer?" "Yeah, but its not my real name. How do I cash this?" "Come back tomorrow during normal business hours and talk to Lt Smith. He's the only one who can change the names on the checks." You know how he changes the name on the check? He arrests you for providing false information and enters the money back into the system. You get a new check when you bond out on your new charges.

You gotta love dumb criminals.

One upon a time there was allegedly a drunk combative person who checked in with about 2000.00 in cash.
Since he wasnt with the program, he got a good nights sleep in a quiet holding cell.
He wakes up the next morning and politely taps on the window.
When the Jailer appears, the man politely inquires why he is in jail?
It is explained to him.
Then, he asks, if he can make bail?
Yes, replies the jailer, you have enough money.
How do we do it,asks the man.
The jailer replies we got to get the paperwork done.
Then the guy replies, well son, lets get this show on the road.

Jailer said it was like talking to two totally different people.

Yeah, I know people like that. When they are sober, they are fine, but when they are drunk, they are total @$$holes.

I usually find they are just about transparent as to the true character whent they are sober and to be around them at that point is bad enough. I guess seeing all the nonsense and problems alcohol causes, it's one of those count on one hand things for me as far as trying.

This is completley off this particular subject, but as I no longer smoke cigs, & never drank-any get togethers friends, family stangers seem to view as "different". Does everyone need company?
