I applied to the recent FPS1811 "Criminal Investigator" position (National Protection and Programs Directorate) that closed on 5/20/10.
The vacancy states there are many vacancies for nine cities to include Billings, MT. (CANT BELIEVE THAT!!) The vacancy goes on to say, "More than one selection may be made from this announcement if the need arises."
Does anyone know if there are many vacancies in all of these ciities, or just a few? Anyone know of a hiring timeframe? Good luck to all that applied.

Most likely 1 to 2 positions per Major city, BUT the agency is in so much turmoil right now it might be a while befrore you hear anything.
BTW the agency director position is also posted......LMAO

Michigan had 1 FPS 1811, but he jumped ship to ICE over a year ago.

Smart guy jumping to ICE, although our 1811's recently got GS-13...Still we need far more 0080 Inspectors than CI's. But the last I heard from our former director is don't expect any new 0080's postings for at least three years.
But as far as the orginal poster question: GS-13 and 6C/12D coverage...Its a sweet gig... Good luck to all those that applied.
