GA Private property ??
I live in a gated community in Metro atlanta with a seriously out of control HOA bod that would make Hitler very proud.
The little darlings sent a letter to the community stating residents need to come to a complete stop at the stop signs in the community or they can face fines, suspension of privileges. i.e., pool, attending HOA meetings, and gate access (I don't think that is legal).
The fines listed in the letter are: $100.00 for the the first offence, $200.00 for the second, $500.00 for the third offence.
The Nazi's went on to say they are considering hiring a police officer to enforce the stop sign if they don't see more people coming to a complete stop at it.
My question is, can the police enforce a stop sign on a private road / drive. A road /drive that is not maintained by the city.
Assuming the officer has his / her hat on, or any of the other funny requirements you guys say, can they enforce it like a public roadway?
Also a member of the board has made claims in a community news latter that he was a local police officer with the local town department. When I ran in to him I asked him is he was post certified (a requirement for Georgia officers), he asked me what that was. so I call:icon_bs:
He went on to say that he went straight from the police academy to the FBI academy where he learned how to a undercover cop, he said once that training was complete he went back to the local department and joined a task force that was made up of the following.
A states attorney, FBI, DEA, ATF, US Marshal, state police, Fulton county police, Fulton county Sheriff, and a few local town officers.
I called over to the local department and asked if he was a police officer with them, they said no.
Correct me if I am wrong, but is it not illegal to go around telling people you are a cop, or were a cop when in fact you are not a cop or was never a cop?
My house is listed and I am trying to get the hell out of this Hitler prison camp, along with 22 others that are up for sale (that's 22 out of 153.)
Thanks in advance.
