Hi

I am an applicant for Howard County Police. I hear that they are shooting for an academy class for April.

If anyone else is an applicant please let me know your status.

From what I understand a class has between 10-20 people, but since they have not had a class since 1/09 I think there will be more people in it.
What Do you all think?

Not many people on the site from MD that I've seen so far. There's me, I work for the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, and I've seen one or two MSP on here, but that's about it.

I know a few guys in Howard. They left my agency to go there! We also have one guy here who used to be HCPD. He never really has had anything bad to say about it.

I have been in the process for HCPD since April 2009. They are just now getting my background finished up and I was told by my background investigator last week that the next academy is April 12th and they will be selecting 12-15 applicants for the class. Two of which have already been chosen b/c they were in the previous class and had to be deployed for the military, so HCPD had to hold their positions for them. After my background is completed (hopefully this wk), I have to finish my Medical and Psych. HCPD was my first choice in terms of the other agencies in MD, but I have applied to 3 other agencies as a backup. I hope this info helps out a bit and if I get anymore info, I will be sure to update you.

wow only 12-15 I thought they might be selecting more than normal because they are behind but apparently not.

I do not like my chances now, but that is okay it is not in my hands.
