Sweet! hahaha
Looks like Fort Rosecrans National Cemetary on Point Loma.
I took some of my own pics when I visited there over this past summer.

It was 4th if July weekend and I took my daughter there. We had a couple somber moments as I tried to explain to her why that cemetary was special and who the kind of people were that laid there in the ground. She's 12, but I think she kind of understood what I was telling her.
On a lighter note, I've also got pics of the submarine base just on the other side of the cemetary wall. :)

Be confident Sarge, your daughter understood, and will remember that cemetery and the kind of people who lie buried there till she's an elderly lady. Sometimes we think kids aren't paying attention and act disinterested at things that impress adults. Kids have an indelible memory and see and hear things that stay etched in their memories for a long time. I remember my granddad putting small US flags on civil war and WW-1 military veteran's graves every Memorial Day. I couldn't have been more than 4-5 years old at the time. Also, I was careful what I said around my two daughters when they were growing up and never praised one without praising the other.
If you don't mind, I would like to see some of those Sub base photos.
