i will be honest and post a backround of myself but i do require respect and by that i mean not to tell me that i will never qualify as a leo just cause of your own police station laws or because of your hatred to certain drugs

i started smoking pot about halfway of my freshman year in high school. it wasnt until my sophmore year that i started using it chronically. unfortunatly i felt as if i lagged money so i sold marijuana for a good 3 months and only at one point (about 1 week) sold ecstacy pills during my junior year. but as senior year started i quit completly and started helping my community with volunteer programs, joined an anti-gang interest group, been a member of both police and firefighter explorers programs, will go to college, and am planning on joining the national guard. ive never been in trouble with the law for a single thing and have had average grades

please tell me in a respectful way if there is any police station in california or in the U.S. that would still consider hiring me as an LEO

With all requested respect, you will not be eligible to be hired as a police officer with that background in any department I am familiar with. That is no chance at all. Zero. You have a history of felonious behavior that will keep you out of this profession.

Find a new career, you are not suited for this one. That does not mean you are a bad person, just not cut out to be a cop.

I just have to say that I'm utterly shocked by your attitude! You come into OUR house, where you KNOW we don't care for people who have done what you did, and ask us a question that you ALREADY KNOW the answer too, and on top of it all, YOU DEMAND RESPECT?

Here's your respectful answer:

Dear Sir,

Your application was considered closely, but due to your criminal background, you were not selected to be an appropriate candidate for the Law Enforcement Officer position.

Get used to reading it, you'll get it from EVERY department you apply to!

Oh, and just 'cause I feel like it, here's your UNRESPECTFUL answer:

Hell NO will you ever become a cop! Are you crazy? You were (and possibly still are depending on the statute of limitations where you live) one of the people many of us here spend out time searching for to take to JAIL!

Good luck in whatever OTHER career you decide to pursue, 'cause you sure ain't getting into THIS one!

You are more likely to win the Powerball lottery than getting picked-up as an LEO with a background that includes selling drugs.

Do not say thise because of the "my own police station laws" or any particular "hatred to certain drugs." I Say this because there are so many WELL-QUALIFIED applicants who have not done drugs, let alone SOLD them. You see, there's this funny little detail in our line of work of not only enforcing laws, but FOLLOWING them.

So, you are interested in becoming an LEO to enforce laws, but not interested enough in it to actually follow the laws? :confused5:

Alrighty, then...

You sold drugs and you want respect? Get a life and find a new place to ask questions. Oh boy, do you have a rude awakening coming. Only thing you said that may help you is the military. I suggest you forget the National Guard and enlist for 4 years. They will make the man out you your parents failed to do.

You still won't get into law enforcement tho...

I don't know about the circles you hang out in but here you will not get respect because you demand it you have to earn it.

So by demanding respect, not being able to properly capitalize, and not to mention the whole being a druggie and a drug dealer thing it's going to be pretty hard to gain the respect you are demanding.

Sorry, but if you apply to the CHP your application will be reviewed and rejected.

We have too many candidates out there that have advanced education levels, impeccable backgrounds and rate very high in all aspects of the testing process to even consider an individual with your past.

As a matter of fact, you would find it difficult to even be considered for a fire fighter position; or, for that matter, any civil service position.

Good luck in your endeavors of the future.

I think what you meant to say is you were too lazy to get a real job and choose criminal activity. What you provided up there in bold (emphasis mine) is an excuse. And a poor one at that - many of us had little things here and there that we did in the past and had to come clean about during our hiring process.

With your background nobody will take you. Almost all departments as a maximum will accept experimental marijuana usage. Join the military, find a career, and contribute to the tax base.

I think we can probably put this one to bed.
