During the month of October, which still has has 4 more days left before being over, 58 of our troops have died in Afghanistan making it the deadliest month in loss of life since the war started in 2001.

Having served in combat and wondering how and why I survived, I'm certainly not minimizing the loss of any of our troops.

But I get sick of the media sensationalizing it.

In 2008, 34,017 people were killed in this country in traffic wrecks. According to statistics, it's safer to live in either Iraq or Afghanistan than it is to live in Washington D.C. Let's get some perspective on this.
