I turned in my State Trooper Application last monday. It's been a week and I haven't heard anything yet. Is this normal, should I have heard from them yet? Maybe I'm just to anxious, I really want this. Any information would be helpful. Thanks

Yeah, I would give it a little longer before you got too worried, but don't get to relaxed either. They misfiled my paperwork and I almost didn't make in to the current academy. I would have been overlooked all together if I didn't call to check on the status after about 3 1/2 weeks. They wont mind if you call up there to check on the status, just don't call every day.

I'm in the academy now and it took about 2-3 weeks to hear from a Trooper to start my background (which takes 2 weeks), 1 week after was doing my written tests, 1 week later I was doing the oral board, 5 weeks later I got the conditional job offer, 5 weeks later went to Austin to do the CJO testing, and 5 weeks later I got the call that I was accepted into the academy. It was about a 5 month process. Well worth it though.
That was for the current academy though. If you are previous LE, there is an abbreviated academy in March that's only 10 weeks, but if not then you'll be waiting until the June academy. Hope this helps. Stay safe.

Yeah, I have a weekly one, its TX DPS September 2009 Academy.
