Some people have told me that in some counties the sheriff's dept. would require people to start out in the jail for a certain period before they can be an officer.
I am wondering a few things about this, firstly is that true? Secondly is it easier to get a job in a jail then a police dept? Would it maybe be a good idea if i saw an opening at one to apply to get my foot in the door on a LE career?
Appreciate any help.
