Hello all. I have a problem with my glock 26. I recently tried to take it apart and discovered something is severely wrong. After ensuring the firearm is completely safe clear and empty, i pulled the trigger as you must do to dismantle the firearm, i then tried to pull the take down levers from both sides and push the slide forward and it wouldn't come off. I then tried pulling the trigger again and discovered that I am able to dry-fire the gun over and over again with out racking the slide once. Does anyone know what is wrong?

You are pulling back on the slide slightly while pulling down the takedown bar right ?

ETA: OH didn't read the last sentence. Take the gun to a glock armorer/gunsmith. Do not try to repair it yourself. Sounds like a dangerous malfunction.

I'm a Glock armorer and am perplexed. Sometimes it's difficult to say without actually handling the weapon ourselves. This is one of those times.
