Being in a patriotic mood as most everyone was at the time and hearing this song played for the first time on a cafe juke box, it impressed me so much that I enlisted in the navy a few weeks later.

Good post, it got me to thinking what motivated me to go into the Army all those years ago. I guess if I had to pin it down it would be two movies: Rambo (I know - I was a teenager) and Stripes. Looking back I would say that I had an equal balance! Although I never took over a small rural town and got shot at by Brian Dennehy...I did get some cool knives and some awesome weapons. I also did some mud wrestling..Then Clinton came around. "Sooooo to all of you Homo's..If ya touch me. I'll kill ya"
