Am i illegally parked if the car is idling and i am in the drivers seat? THis goes for both yellow or red marked sidewalks, and private lots where a tow sign is posted. I'd appreciate any answers you have. Thanks!

If the car is stopped or standing in a place where parking is prohibited, then yes, you are illegally parked, even if you are in the driver's seat and the car is running (at least in my state).

Kinda like asking, "If I was drunk with the car running, but I was stopped... can I get a DWI since I wasn't driving?"

Are you asking if you're considered being "illegally parked" while in a running car that is parked illegally?
