Seeking advice for reserve officer interview.

In a couple weeks I'm supposed to go in for like a meet and greet/interview (from what I was told), with a small local department here in central IN. Looking for advice on what I should wear, say, do and so on. I'm really wanting to get a career started in LE and think that this would be a good first step. Just wanting to know some of the "what not to do's" and positive things that could give me an edge or assistance to get on.

Don't know that this information matter but the department size is quiet small only having 4 full times and 7 reserves currently.

Much obliged!

Hi,

Every year, about 60,000 - 65,000 people apply to be police officers but less than 7000 are actually successful and go on to achieve their dream job. The assessment team will be examining you at all stages of the process and you need to make an impression and every stage and this includes the police application form.

If you fail to demonstrate an understanding of key areas such as diversity and awareness and also match the core competencies your application will not be successful.

be yourself; business casual... do Not try to impress anyone with your knowledge of how police do their jobs...
