I hopefully will relocate to Texas in the next couple years, and hopefully near the Dallas area. Now I would like some suggestions from Texas officers. I have been a police officer in Ohio for 8 years with a couple in SWAT. I want this to be my last department, and would like a ranking of such departments that you would want to work for. I was gonna shoot for Dallas but it seems budget cuts are happening, and guys aren't behind the chief because of his restrictions with use of force. So any help would be great. I have looked at Plano, Fort Worth, and DPS, but kinda wanna know what the creme of the crop department to work for in Texas is. Thanks for any help.

You may want to post this behind the curtain, as all verifieds don't monitor all forums. Even the ones which are dedicated to the states they are from.
Try it, you may have better success.

When I was looking up there I tested with Mesquite. Highest starting pay I found and it looks like a top notch shop from my experience with them. Oral Board was a little old school but they were fair.
The market for recruits is good because there are many departments up there. Decent starting pay too. Not sure who's hiring as I'm done with the search.
