Thanks for everyones help. I now have an academy date of 09/16/2009.

I would like to make a suggestion to anyone who has been cleared and ready for hire. If your local field office has no openings and a 200+ person wait, like mine did (MIAMI), please consider another location if possible. It will get you started and stop the clock for us "elders"..LOL. I will be moving to Florence, AZ.

I would suggest contacting the field offices of any areas that you are interested in and as for Human Resources. I did and I was able to get some great information about the city, best location to live, etc...I was also given the number of a Supervisory IEA Agent in Florence and told to call him. I did and he was extremely helpful and very informative. I also learned that many detention centers are contracting out the staffing. This will free up IEA Agent from detention duties, allowing them to be out on the streets more. So, to anyone who is thinking that a "small town" assignment will be boring, give it a chance, you may be surprised in a few short months or by the time you get back from the academy.

Good Luck to you All!!!
