Will the pay rate go down?
Reason I ask is because if the pay-rate does go down, I would imagine they would use the excuse as its the only feasable to spread fundings as a way to hire more cops, as opposed to what they are doing now, using more money in the salary, which from what read; is hiring less cops and canceling classes to meet funds.
And doesnt it all even out anyway? When cops started at 25k last year, then the contract changes, those that were making 35k (after 25k, or whatever those in the 25k classes made before the new contract) get their salary boosted to match the higher newer salary-
And the happy cops who get 40k starting salary- then a new lower contract changes and they cant get that 41k boost, or the 50 something k boost after a few years when they lower the salary to hire more cops- which would lower there promotion scale.
It seems like its planned out in advance, and if you are hired at 30k, or 40k, you will still not have a proper salary scale to trust, and it appears to even out. I did hear that more money is coming in from the government to hire more cops, but this was a few months back.
I dont really care about the money, I just want to be a cop, so I'm actually hoping they hire more cops, regardless of the salary they offer, and it seems the little strategy I thought up (which I'm asking if its true or not) seems to point at a lower salary, but more cops.
