Hi everyone-
My name is Andy Rick and I'm a full time firemedic in the northern Chicago suburbs. I have a degree and background in fitness and have begun to make it my mission to make us all as first responders more prepared physically for what we face every day. I am working with a friend of mine who owns a local gym to develop a Tactical Training Fitness Program designed specifically for fire, police, and other first responders. On June 2, we are holding the first set of classes with a number of local fire fighters. As great as this is going to be, we are really hoping to reach out to more of our brothers and sisters across the country. As a result, by the end of this summer we are hoping to launch a comprehensive website with everything from daily workout routines and nutrition info, to the latest fitness news relating to our jobs.
If there is any chance you are interested or have questions, PLEASE let us know. We would like to start compiling a contact list of emails so we can keep everyone updated on our progress, and to let you know when the site will launch. Until that time, we are pulling together a blog and will start to post as much as we can there as well.
Please visit my friend Ben's gym website (search) Be Well Fitness in Libertyville, IL and send your names and email addresses to the "info" email address there or post here and I'll forward them on.
I promise what we are developing has the chance to change lives and make sure we all come home at the end of every shift.
Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you!

Your Brother,
Andy

We have started the blog that will lead into a full website. The plan is to start developing some articles of interest and information which will be the basis of the programs. Sign up and let us know what you think or what you want to have included! Search bewellfitness.wordpress and get started with the Tactical Training Club

Hello, Andy.

Your post looks strikingly like spam. I imagine that, after your aforementioned website is up, you will be looking to post it here. I would suggest you seek out permission prior to do so or you will be banned. We don't take kindly to people doing drive-by postings with completely selfish motivations.

For example, anyone with more than just the most rudimentary knowledge of fitness knows how reckless attempting to "train" someone from a website is. There are way too many nuances that must be addressed in each individual... but what would I know about that. :)

...and believe it or not, there is already some great routines that are widely believed to be the best thing going for military, LE and other first responders. There is a reason that Crossfit has been adopted by the Marines, FLETC and many other agencies across the country. Hell, I train a couple local hose-draggers. They have nothing but great things to say about it and how it has changed their lives.

If you wish to be a participating member here, you are quite welcome. If you wish to do nothing more than promote your own agenda, you will quickly be banned.

...but good luck reinventing the wheel.
