The funeral will be held at First Baptist Church in Lebanon at 11 a.m.

Investigators said Stone was off duty and was riding on Highway 231, when a BMW pulled into his lane near Jennings Avenue.

Investigators believe Stone was going south when the driver tried to turn left onto the highway. The car did not stop and Stone hit the driver's side door.

Police said the driver of the car, Jose Chavez did not have a license and police believe he and a passenger are both illegal immigrants. Both are being held at a Wilson County Jail.

Stone organized a motorcycle charity ride to help pay for cancer treatments for one of his fellow officers.

The family asks that donations be made to benefit that cause, "Ride for Willett."

Officer Stone leaves behind a wife and three children.

I knew Jeff, and his loss is felt far and wide among his friends and family. Please keep them in your prayers.

Huge thanks to all the people that came to the funeral. It made me feel really good to see how a community and Public Safety as a family pulls together to show their support for a fallen officer.
