Police Officer Preparation & Law Enforcement Resource - Archive

I am 43 years old and was laid off several weeks ago. I have always been interested in a career in LE. I am fed up with being in a career that is very economy driven and now decided to change careers. I am going to test with the Dallas Police Department on the 29th and 30th. I have the following questions and hope someone will take the time to offer me some advice.

1. What is the Oral Board portion of the process like.
2. If not hired by Dallas then should I attend a police academy on my own? They have one here at Collin County Community College, do you know anything about it?
3. Any other advice is welcome and will be greatly appreciated

1st advice is to try the SEARCH function before asking common rudimentary questions... to begin with, try searching "oral board"...
