OK - I'm a complete metal head. Hardcore, speed, thrash. Have been since I was about 13. So Here is a place for other metalheads to post the stuff they dig. Here are a few of mine:
-6a8M8qd9ow
"6-6-Sick" by Dope. Don't like anything else by this band, but this song is at the top of my gym mix
labytsb3gfI
"Blood and Thunder" by Mastodon. These guys just stomp - period. This is from the album Leviathan, a concept album completely dedicated to the novel Moby D1ck

"Set to Fail" by Lamb of God. I need say nothing more.

I'll jump in on this. I don't know how much of what I listen to is classified as "metal" anymore. I am a HUGE Metallica fan. No Metallica vids on YouTube. ;)
I also like Avenged Sevenfold (A7X)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drmXXQrjIho
Bullet For My Valentine
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYGQjYi2A30&feature=channel_page
Disturbed (Fuckin' AWESOME show they put on. Big supporters of the military as well.)
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=51150579
Guns 'N' Roses
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oobDQ0vdm8M
I have to be able to understand the lyrics. A lot of what's classified as "metal" nowadays is nothing but screaming and primal grunting into a mike. There are those that obviously enjoy that, but not me. A voice is a separate instrument and there should be a vocal range displayed on an album. Simply having a monotone yell/scream is not what I'm after.

I guess I'm a little too old (45) for speed metal (it's too speedy for my not-so-speedy brain) but I do have a few Led Zep, (older) Metallica, Judas Priest and Black Sabbath cd's...anyway the Master of Muppets (as well as the other Muppet stuff) looks pretty funny. I'm on a work computer in NYC (JFK) so I can't hear it (no audio capability).

How does anything new by Metallica compare to this? Listen to that flamenco-styled guitar intro! Feel the POWER!
1) one of thre greatest movies ever is used at the beginning
2) by one of the greatest directors
3) Cliff is God

Pre-"black" album. And Lars is a completely self-absorbed narcissist.
All Metallica (well, I wasn't horribly impressed with St. Anger, but I bought it) is good. Musicians have to be allowed to try different things and progress in their art. Somethings work better than others. If everything sounded "pre-Black Album" it'd be a lot of the same **** and the band would be boring very quickly.
As far as Lars is concerned, I try not to pay attention to specific personalities of any group I listen to, nor do I have to agree with their personal political views for their music to kick ***.
If that were the case, I wouldn't listen to MOST of the music that I do.

One of my favorite bands of all time is Ministry, the "Land of Rape and Honey"
8mtZ7zBgLAw
and "The Mind is a Terrible Thing to Taste"
HtiffRnQfHs
periods, specifically. The last aforementioned album played a critical role in my adolescence. And I own the next three albums, asl well as the preceeding two, plus all the "extra" discs, the DVD's, the WaxtTrax! compilation, and most of the side projects:
cgcaYz8iXNI
Revolting Cocks - Do You Think I'm Sexy (Rod Stewart cover)
8uh6AJgeM4Y
1000 Homo DJ's - Supernaut (Black Sabbath cover w/ Trent Reznor)
RlBAIofsQpM
PailHead - Man Will Surrender (w/ Ian MacKaye of Minor Threat and Fugazi)
, Pigface,
Yl9_enhs9ro
Pigface - Suck (w/ Nivek Ogre of Skinny Puppy, feat. Trent Reznor)
But I cannot bring myself to buy any of the albums after "Filth Pig"
ghIUhfBYFgw
becuase Al Jourgensen has become such an abrasive, prick. It's a bummer, because the last album "The Last Sucker" is some of the best stuff they've ever put out.
zI0aClDjVOk
"Let's Go"
TXIVoKrn9uQ
"Lies, Lies, Lies"

"Life is Good"

I agree after the black album it pretty much went downhill...Their new stuff is OK but pales in comparison to the old stuff....Master of Puppets is my favorite

This is not "Melt your Head", but they are tunes I like just the same. As this is my thread, I can diverge from the original design. The rest of you, however, must abide by the original intentions of the thread. I don't make the rules, folks, I just try not to break them all simultaneously.

It's a last name, too. Three brothers. Good music - get there. They're from Phoenix, still live there and play the local joints, so you should be able to get there. Go to one of their shows while you're working and tell them Frankencop says "WAZZUP!"
