Have a cool time, Sgt. Slaughter!
Man, I have only heard of 'Disturbed' out of that bunch...but then again I have Lynyrd Skynyrd on cassette tapes...so maybe I'm sort of out of touch due to being middle aged (I'll be 45 next month).

I don't know how much I can cuss in here, so I'll just say:
That concert EFFING ROCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I was astounded by the crowd's response to the bands. The concert was held in our pro hockey team's arena. The concert was not "in the round." The stage was at the far end of the arena - what's normally the zamboni entrance.
Lacuna Coil was okay. They opened and had a mediocre response.
Next up was Chimera (who I've never heard of before) who definitely had some INTENSE music. Couldn't understand WTF the singer was saying, though. There was a decent response from the crowd to them.
Killswitch Engage came out and the place took on a whole new life! The crowd was EXTREMELY responsive to the band and lead singer. He was able to split the crowd right down the center. He called for "absolute pandemonium" and the people gave it to him! They flung themselves to and fro like nutjobs. IT WAS BADASS!!!! They finally closed out their set with the cover of Dio's Holy Diver. When that song played, EVERYBODY in the joint was on their feet and banging their heads as they sang along.
During teardown/setup after Killswitch Engage the radio was playing Bodies by Drowning Pool. The crowd was getting pumped up with that song, so the house turned the song up. Almost at the end of the song, the house blacked out and Disturbed started making their entrance.
Now. I'm not going to ruin the show's opening for those of you who may still see this tour. This crowd fucking EXPLODED!!!! A few songs were kinda "blah". I didn't recognize a couple, but then I don't have ALL the albums. If you know Disturbed, you know David's vocal style. A few songs he had a rough go, but he puts his pipes through hell during each performance. What we thought was the end of the show was merely a chance to dress up the stage and performers a bit. They draped camo netting across the stage and each band member donned "military attire." David wore a set of cammies. The drummer wore a cammie cover. Guitarist wore a sleeveless shirt that said Air Force across the chest. Bass player's shirt said ARMY across his. This is when they played Indestructible. It was TIGHT! The crowd really got into the song and entire performance.
Closing song began as a 5 minute drum solo which turned into the beat for Down with the Sickness. David used the solo opportunity to move into the middle of the arena. A platform was set up in the soundboard area for him to stand on and sing. He was probably 30 feet in the air - DIRECTLY in front of our seats. Fekkin' SWEET!!!!!!!! He started in on the song and the crowd on the floor swarmed the soundboard area. The platform eventually dropped and he was escorted by security to the stage. He walked about 20 feet from our seats as he passed by en route to the stage. It was the final song of the night and WELL worth the meager $40 we spent on tickets.
If you like the music and have the chance, get your *** to see this show! If you need to, give up your left nut to go! If that's required, you'll still have one left to knock up your favorite chick, plus you'll have a bad *** story to tell you little kiddies when they grow up about how you gave up your testicle for rock 'n' roll!!!!!

Got my tickets for the April 7th show here in Pensacola, and now I'm even MORE excited - if that's humanly possible!
Thanks for the summary! I'll look like a hero in my daughters eyes when I surprise her with the tix AND know what's going down before it happens! LOL

Geez I guess I'm the only one who remembers the video game with Aerosmith...
Shoot. I missed this. Was this at UofP stadium too? I don't miss many concerts like this that are at UofP or Pavillion.
