So I was sent in to an inner city store due to management reports of organized groups coming in and loading up. Sure thing, halfway through my shift I spot a male/ female duo in the baby clothes aisle. Female was rummaging through her shopping cart suspiciously while the male appeared to act as a lookout. Next thing I see is two handbags get handed off to the male, who conceals them into his winter jacket ( it was 50 degrees out mind you.) So awesome I say to myself!! Here's an easy case, at least I thought. I head out on the floor to do some "shopping". Male takes one look at me and bee lines it for the doors. I approach him in the vestibule and say "Loss Preve-" Male takes off across the parking lot. So I run him down and give him a bear hug, using minimal force and start dragging him back towards the store. Now the female comes out yelling " Get off my son!". Oh my god I say to myself. Anyways the female wrenches one of my hands free and the male hands her the bags. I snatch the bags from her and head back for the male, who's now running in circles all over the parking lot. Next thing I know, the female comes roaring through the parking lot in a durango and almost clips me. She screams for him to get in. Alright, well this had gone on long enough so I grab the kid and gave him a clean leg sweep and held him on the ground. Thankfully, PD was already en route and showed up 30 seconds later and cuffed the male. The female became irate so they detained her as well. When her back was searched she was found to be in possession of an EAS tag detacher  It becomes apparent that these two are pros. Anyways the mother was arrested as an accessory. I grabbed the bags to see how much they were, turns out they were designer Micheal Kors bags, retailing for 129.99 and 179.99!! Anyways, a very exciting solo apprehension and my highest dollar amount recovered so far, just though I would share:D
