Forgive me if there has been anything posted about these. I tried to search it but I didn't find a whole lot about these in particular.
I've been looking for a new pair of work boots for quite some time an I am thinking about getting these but before I drop $180 I'd like to get some opinions on the boot first. I'm looking for something lightweight, durable and something that I will not have to replace in a year. I walk anywhere from 1-6hours a shift and through all weather conditions.
I have been looking at getting a pair of danners but unfortnately they are a little pricy for me right now.
Currently I am wearing Bates Ultra Lites right now if anyone cares.

For $50 more and some shoppiong you can get insulated and waterproof Danners which will last a life time. I do have the Oakley's which are sneaker fit and nice, but I have gone through 3 pairs and still on my Danners.

Check out some Lowa boots. I have both desert and the waterproof woodland ones. They are, hands down, the best boots I have ever had.
I am not sure that they will last as long as the Danners that I have had in the past. With that said, they are showing no signs of wear after a year and a half, though.
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING has come close to being as comfortable as these boots. I used to think that the 5.11s were the most comfortable boots out there (though they wouldn't last 6 months) until I got the Lowas. My first day wearing them, I did a 15km rural ops training course with a 50lb ruck through some nasty Louisiana terrain (lots of thorns & vines, swamps, and gravel). I finished it without as much as a hotspot on my feet!
Anywho, give them a look. Also, FWIW, I am comparing them with a whole slew of boots that I have been issued (Danners, Rockys, 5.11s etc.).

Those Lowa boots are sounding like a great choice. I went to their website and looked in the tactical/duty boot section. http://www.lowaboots.com/catalog/catalog.cfm?Category=8
Which Lowa boot do you prefer?
(Hope this isn't thread jacking since its the same subject)
