Shot 200 rounds through the Kimber CDP II today. It's no better as I'm having lots of FTF's. Last range report was a bit better. I'm thinking it could partly be an ammo issue. First time out I shot Blazer Brass with lots of FTF's. Next range day was a bit better and I shot Winchester White Box. I still had some FTF and premature slide lock but not as much.
Today I only could find Blazer Brass. I also bought a Wilson Combat slide lock and switched it out. The WC slide stop was much worse. Lots of premature slide locks. Put the stock SS back in and had no premature slide locks with the stock mag. I'm having issues with my WC mag. The last round seems as if it's chambered but the slide will not go all the way forward. No issues with the stock mag...at least no issues I can trace back to the mag.
I got the weapon at Gander Mountain. The have an in house gunsmith/shop. I took it back for them to check out. They stated they have had several Kimbers in. They are going to polish the feed ramp as well as the throat on the barrel. He said he'd disassemble the series II safety as he's seen some with burrs. He said he'd get it back to me in a week.
I'm a bit disappointed in Kimber. You shouldn't have issues in a weapon at this price. I have 500 rounds through it and it should be "broken in" according to the owners manual. I planned on making this an off duty carry but I honestly can't trust this weapon with my life.
