Is anyone familiar with this program? It states it's a program based on active relationships with other agencies yet it doesn't specify what it's about or any insight of its routine. I would assume it would involve activities and volunteer work similar to NYPD's youth exploring program..anyone have further info?

That's exactly the site I stumpled upon. I'm just curious of their involvement and activities with other agencies and how much if at all if differs from nypd's program since it's based on corrections.

I couldn't see it being that different from NYPD. NYPD explorers do paperwork, and don't have contact with prisoners. I'm sure the NYCDOC program wouldn't be much different.

i have been working as a C.O. on rikers for the last 12 years and have never ever seen an explorer from my department.I'm not even sure they exist anymore.,but why would anyone want to be a corrections explorer in the first place?

The only time I see our precinct explorers, is when I have a collar and am there during the daytime, or maybe its just cadets that I see.
