Hi just wondering about two things.

Is there a buddy program in the NYPD like the military where you can join with someone and be stationed in the same unit. For the NYPD it would probably be the same precinct?

How long will it take for acceptance into ESU, bomb squad, OCCB, or the CT unit? also what are their special requirements?

No

You can apply after 5 years. If you don't have previous military experience as a bomb tech, forget about the bomb squad. CT is another dream unless you have a hook. ESU and OCCB can be done, with OCCB a more likely place you can end up.
