I just paid 249$ for 1K of 762x39 from ammoman.com. I think the whole Liberal-in-office phenomenon has got the market scared.
223 is Going for OVER 350$/1K.
Anyone else disgusted?

Metals are finally trending down now, I heard- so you can definitely thank Obama for this. I wouldn't be surprised to see shortages for a while.

I'm just glad I stocked up when prices were just starting to rise due to copper shortages. My current stash should last for a while, as I don't shoot all that often anyway.

Oh for sure, I saw the writing on the wall however I did not believe it would rise to the level it is! The last 1000K Of .223 I got was 75$!! That should tell you how long ago that was. Granted I have plenty of ammo, but holycrap prices are out there.

NO, you CANNOT thank Senator Obama for this. You can thank those who allow hysteria to drive their decisions.

TX is right on the money. There has been a run at the gun shops here. Ever since Obama clinched, guns are flying off the shelves.
The people don't realize that already owning it won't help when Obama tries to take them all away.

I certainly don't want it to happen, but I think the worst we could see is a reenactment of the Clinton '94 ban. Things were grandfathered.

Strange. I just bought some Federal HST ammo today from ammunitiontogo and the price hadn't changed. Is the price only going up for rifle ammo, then?

If Obama hadn't voted for every anti-gun measure that came before him in Illinois and DC, and if the NRA hadn't given a grade of F for his votes, then no one would be panicking.
Sure, it's his fault.

There is over two months before he takes office. I don't see a reason to have a run on the gun stores. If it really is supposed to be that big of a problem, does that mean that prices should continue to steadily rise with no end in sight?

While rationally I think the same, with the Dems running the whole shebang for at least 2 years, it's not out of the realm of possible for Schumer, Feinstein and Kennedy to have their puppet try to take the banning of guns as far as they want him to, which is totally.

In light of the recent decision of D.C. v. Heller, they CAN'T outright ban all guns. It would be entirely unconstitutional. All they can do is what they did before, which is to increase taxes on weapons and ammo, and prohibit certain "modifications" on weapons.
The letter-writing campaign should begin, now.

By the way, I just got an email from ammunitiontogo.com:
Thank you for your order. Due to the political situation we have seen an extreme increase in orders. We are doing our best to ship out orders A.S.A.P. As it stands now your order will be shipped next Friday. Thank you for your patience.
Well, I don't have extra .223 but if you're looking for 9mm or .40 at a good price call me :D

Been crusing a lot of gunshops the past couple of days, mainly for the freak show.
What I have noticed is that a LOT of the customers you see, are women. Daughters with moms, male co-workers with female co-workers, husbands shopping for wives.
McBride's Guns here had more women in it than Target.
There is a gun show this weekend, I think I'll go take a peek.;)

I'll second ammunitiontogo.com - I've bought two big batches of .40 S&W and 9mm +P+ Winchester Ranger from them. To my surprise, both of my orders arrived in two days!

No worries. If you've been buying a long time, you probably know all the rest that I'd have to pass on! :D
I went out and about over the weekend and have also noticed the increased prices as well as increased shopping. .308 FGMM was at around $19-20/20 and now I've seen it at $24/20 and $27.98/20 at Cheaper Than Dirt.

That's good....in fact I still tell people that.
:D
Just got my case of Wolf military classic 7.62x39. I think cases of ammo availability is slowly going to decline over the next year.
$249shipped is not a bad price, today's standards of course.. I remember these cases being sold for 79$ shipped!!

One of the Sheriff's Reserve deputies told me tonight that he saw 1000 rds of .223 at a gun show the other day for $700
The first case of 7.62 I got for my AK was $69. I bought another case last year for about $150.
