Just wanted to let you all know that Fred Meyer's will give out grants to various community programs, including explorers. We have a cadet who works for them and brought us a grant request form with which we will ask for $2500 for 5 new vests.
I'm not exactly sure how to get the ball rolling on something like this without someone on the inside, but I'm sure a well-worded letter, phone call, or conversation with the store manager might do the trick.
There could be other stores with this same program also, so look around.
