I was just wondering if any other posts do a detail at the Oktoberfest?

This will be my first one this weekend, and was just wondering exactly what it is, and what to expect.

I never even heard of the Oktoberfest before.

Thanks.

I don't have one locally but Oktoberfest is just a big excuse to get drunk. It's a big German bier (beer) party.

You'll probably just be parking cars or blocking roads near the event. Watch out for the angry drunks. The funny drunks are fun to talk to.

Drummadude is right. Oktoberfest is a yearly event in Munich/Bavaria/Germany. It is for around one week, they have the Theresienwiese as the hot spot of it. There is a fun park with caroussels, rollercoasters, haunted mansions and a lot more atractions. But mostly interested are big tents that will have place for thousands and thousands of people who drink beer in one liter steins for exorbitant prizes. The main goal is getting drunk and gave the police a hard time:mad:. I'm glad that we don't have this event in my state:).
But, in two weeks we'll have a right winged political congress in the city and the left winged from whole Europe will come to the city to block the streets and make trouble. Would be pleasure to be on duty that weekend:mad:

We do one also. It's September 13 & 14. We all pile in police cars and drive for an hour or so and direct traffic for about 10 hours. I'm sure it's pretty much the same thing everywhere you go. We also get paid $10/hr per cadet, so we make everyone go.
