I was joining the explorer program and wanted to know how old you have to be in california to go on ride alongs and what exactly do you have to do in the explorer program, and any other advice and info please.

Call the agency you want to be an explorer with, or go to their website.

In my post (not in CA), there is no age minimum to ride. I did my first ride when I was 15.

Explorers explore the field of law enforcement by having academy-type classes, and performing some basic duties that don't require legal law enforcement officer authority out in the real-world.
