Good Day to all,
I have well what I think is a good question. However I will give you an overview of career and situation. I was an MP in the Army for almost 8 years and worked in CID as an INV for DST. Now I am working in UPS and as a security guy in a retail store. Now I have taken my NYPD exam of which I did very well on. I have my medical coming up with in the next month or so. Now I have had a suspended DL from NY for failure to stop at posted and speeding, of course forgot to pay and went into suspension because of this. I was also ticketed and apprehended for AOU3rd not sure what it got pleaded down to which I am sure it did it was a while ago, almost 3 years now. What I do know is that I need to get my DMV abstract and any tickets that I had received and disposition of same. What I would like to know is do I bother even going threw process and hoping for the best or what do I do? From what I hear a former solider not sure what this troop was suspended for but had to wait one extra year to go to academy. Please if someone knows something anything at all to help me out that would be great. Also written and oral physcological.

In my opinion you should try, but I guarantee you no police agency will hire you without putting some time between you and your suspended license.

Thank you for the answer. However you dont think 3 years plus is enough time. With that in mind the only tickets I have ever recived. Or my work history they dont take any of that to consideration or would it be the oppisite. Saying you used to write tickets how come you did not pay them kinda thing

I think the NYPD wants 5 years in between an arrest for consideration. But dont hold me to that Joeyd6 may be able to elaborate on this better

nah def not 5 years....more like 2-3 nowadays....but that all depends on what the arrest was for

You need to get your license reinstated (if it isn't already) and get all the information that you can on the violations. Furthermore, you need to be able to articulate what happened, that you take responsibility for what happened, how you have learned your lesson, and that this will never happen again.
