If anyone is interested, there is a basic law enforcement training academy starting on Sept 27th at South Florida Community College in Avon Park, FL. Classes are on Saturdays and Sundays. Designed for working professionals that can't go to classes during the day during the week. Cost is $2200 for for the full 770 hours. You need to buy your uniforms, PT clothes, and 1000 rounds of ammo. They provide a firearm if needed. No poly or agility to get into their program - just the requirements by State statute (age 19, no crim convictions, etc.) Open enrollment so no agency sponsorship needed. 5 openings as of today.
