Okay, since thread necromancy is frowned upon, I'm going to start a new thread on this topic.

Once you become an officer, what unit do you want to get into, or do you want to remain in the patrol division?

Personally, after the requisite years in patrol, I would like to get into 1. Computer Crimes 2. Computer Information Systems 3. Crime Scene 4. Investigations (not neccesarily in that order). I would also like to do patrol every once in a while, too.

I just want to do patrol right now. But a traffic unit would be fun and maybe a DV unit too.

I really havnt decided yet but for now I might become just a paramdic deputy for the Genesee County Sheriff Department. Although I am still juggleing around the possibility of a Highway Patrol or K-9 unit.

Go to Ottawa County if you get your Medic ;)

If Pickel wins the election again....RUN....he has seriously changed and used to be close with him but with his actions he has been doing lately...has turned into a bully almost...

Go to Kalamazoo, be a public safety officer. Do it all ;)

I think patrol is definitely what I'd want to do at first. Bike Patrol would be nice (I do it as an explorer). Investigations is a definite possibility but right now all I can think about is becoming a patrolman.

My university of choice has a student cadet program so I could be able to become certified (as a LEO) before 21. After the required time in that I'd want to laterally transfer to a city or state agency. I don't really have any experience with sheriff's offices but it seems like often one starts as a CO.

After my years in patrol, I wouldn't mind being part of the traffic unit, or OWI unit. I also would like to become a patrol sergeant one day, but not go higher because once you get above that you are just a paper pusher.

I'd honestly do anything they'd pay me to do. As corny as it sounds, I like it all. If I had to pick, I'd like to either become a juvenile officer, member of a gang task force, or just a traffic unit.

SWAT is for girly men

SWAT Medics are for real men...;)

I have no interest in ever being SWAT to be honest. K9 or Medic possibly. PSO is what I'm going to...maybe...

Do the patrol gig, become an advisor of the cadet post, get into motors after ~7 years, then go from there. I'll probably finish out my career in detectives.
