I have a 4-year old who is going to be playing soccer later this month. He had ear surgery earlier in the year and his ears are still pretty sensitive to the touch.

I know he'll look like the odd man out, but I'm going to try to give him some headgear just to protect his ears and I'm looking for suggestions.

Obviously they don't make headgear for soccer, so what do you think the best way is to go? I was thinking about this off something like they wear for wrestling, any other suggestions? Is there anything smaller?

Well, wrestling hats aren't very comfortable. I wrestled for a year and even with headgear, my ears bled a bit from the wrestling. If his ears weren't sensitive to the touch, and just needed to be protected, sure, a wrestling hat would work fine (that's what my old coach called the headgear). But they are made for safety and not for comfort. I can only imagine a boy with sensitive ears crying when putting them on.
