Whats the salary in your area for EMT's (Basic, Medic, whatever)

Hopefully within two weeks, I can be starting and they make $8.98 (Actually just went up if I recall due to min wage increase) plus UNLIMITED OT especially if you want to work the BASIC rigs (transfers boring stuff etc)

I'm taking my NREMT over again this week so...

I will pass

I will get myself sick worrying about it

I will pass this time though

I don't think this LP thing is for me kinda

EMT-B $12 - $18
Paramedic $18-$25

Not the highest paying job, but it can be a lot of fun and rewarding if you work with a good crew.

Well when I last worked as an EMT I was getting $9.75 an hour. Of course that was in 1993 but even back then IT SUCKED! :D

Come to CBP Hockey, it's far less dangerous than a real police job, not as difficult as a Paramedic and after you get two or three years in you'll be making $60K a year.

EMT in Escambia County, FL - $12.11 per hour with no experience (possibility of more with experience or working part time)

Paramedic - $14.11 per hour (same deal as above)

LOTS of O/T available from what I'm hearing

And... I should be receiving authorization to take my test here in the next couple days, so I will basically be in the same boat as you, Hockey!

For a private service, per diem, or hospital ER tech, I would say anywhere from 9-15/hr.
For most towns all you get is a stipend or per call wage and some spiffy shirts. If you have also Career Fire training you can get paid pretty well full time if you can get on with a town with a full time dept. My town pays $10 per hour while on a call to volunteers. The other dept I serve is a freebie.

A buddy of mine works for AMR in San Jose. He doesn't make squat, deals with crappy people on a daily basis, and absolutely loves his job. He has his degree in marine biology from UC Santa Cruz and said he will never go into that field. He loves being a paramedic. Good luck on your testing!
