I've been searching the pages about Traverse City area for few weeks now, but other than the economy is not doing well, which is so true, it is hard to find any other ground truth info. Anyway, I will be moving to TC soon and if anyone from the area has any advice/warning about the place for a newcomer, would be much appreciated!

Hello:) I love TC. There's a little bit of everything there. Beware of CONSTRUCTION it's crazy you'll spend more money in gas on detours then anything. Good luck!:D

Make sure you really research it before moving. The COL is much higher then other parts of the state.
Just curious, where you looking to move to? Like what area?
You going to be working up there? Where at? Just being nosey...
If you want a nice place, let met know. Kingsley is a nice area and isn't too far from TC. They say a view of the bay is half your pay.

TC is an awesome area. I used to spend my summers up there when I was younger. My family had a summer home on a lake in the area. Very beautiful country.
Like you, my husband spent lots of summers there in his youth.The view and the smell of the lakes is one of the reasons we bought a house there, but I have been reading contradictory opinions in different forums regarding the criminal activities lately.
