I am now enrolled in the criminal justice program at MATC in Madison Wisconsin. Its a two year school. My plan was to transfer to Marian University which has a program called the Centralized Student Career Experience Program for the USMS. After reading these forums and a few others I realize because of my drug history, no trouble with the law though, this my not be the best degree for me. I made those mistakes before I ever considered a CJ career. I smoked marijuana frequently and tried cocaine a few times during my senior year. I also had a prescription for ADD. Which I never abused, I benefited from it alot in school. I didnt tell my teachers and in a few weeks several told me they noticed a good improvement in me. I honestly always had a hard time concentrating. And I realize that looks bad at a time when i was smoking pot and trying other drugs. I graduated in January and got a factory job, I quit because of the UA from the company. I'm clean now, but after reading enough threads here I'm starting to think its too late. I know you all get these questions alot but with this kind of history do I have a chance?
My backup plan would be to also take pre-law as a minor while in the last two years of college. My question is if a Bachelors in CJ is the right type of degree to get into a law school? Or should I switch degrees altogether?
